About

A planning workspace,
made for the day itself.

Yakusoku is built in Melbourne for couples and the planners who shape their weddings. We make software that gets out of the way of the work.

Origin

Why we
built it.

Yakusoku began the way these things tend to begin — with a couple of friends planning a wedding, opening twelve browser tabs, and wondering why every tool seemed designed for someone else.

The spreadsheets were close. They held the right shape of the work — guests, money, suppliers — but they were ugly to live with. The apps were the opposite: cheerful, gamified, festooned with progress bars and badges. Neither felt like a wedding.

So we made the planner we wanted. Quiet typography. Plain language. A budget that reads like a ledger and a guest list that reads like a register. The kind of software you don’t mind sharing with the people you’re planning the day for.

We’re a small team — designers, engineers, and a handful of working planners — based in Melbourne, building from the first principles of the craft, not the conventions of the category.

Principles

Four things
we keep returning to.

  1. 01

    Restraint over feature count

A planner that does ten things well is more useful than one that does forty things badly. Every screen earns its place.

  2. 02

    Plain language

No marketing voice in the product, no clever icons in place of words. If it can’t be said simply, it isn’t finished.

  3. 03

    Beautiful by default

Couples share their planner with families, vendors, and friends. It should look like something you’d be proud to put your name on.

  4. 04

    The work, not the workflow

We optimise for the wedding actually happening — not for time spent inside the app. The best version of Yakusoku is the one you forget about on the day itself.
